Welcome to Ballylusk
Ballylusk Cottage and Apartment is a respite centre situated on the outskirts of Ashford in Co. Wicklow.
Ballylusk Cottage provides dedicated traditional respite supports to children, aged between 6 and 18, with an intellectual disability in the moderate to profound range. Ballylusk Cottage also caters to individuals sensory difficulties, communication issues, and complex behavioural issues. Ballylusk Cottage provides a home-from-home for to up to four children each night.
Ballylusk Apartment is a self-contained, sole occupancy residence situated on the grounds of Ballylusk Cottage that provides dedicated respite support to two specific young adults on a sole occupancy basis.
We, at Ballylusk, understand that caring for a loved one with an intellectual disability can be both rewarding and challenging. Our respite services provide families and primary caregivers with much-needed relief. Whether it’s one night or a few nights, our highly-trained staff will ensure your loved one is safe, engaged, and well-cared for while you take some time for yourself.
During their stay, we offer fun and stimulating activities, promoting social interactions and individual growth.
Our team comprises highly qualified social care professionals who are passionate about providing the best care and support to children with intellectual disabilities. We are committed to understanding the unique needs of each child and customising our services to ensure their comfort and well-being while fostering independence and self-determination.
Ballylusk Cottage and Apartment actively encourage community engagement and social inclusion. Through various activities and outings, we help individuals build social connections and foster a sense of belonging within the broader community.
