National Programme for Restructuring Children’s Disability Services

The HSE has begun a process called Progressing Disability Services, the aim of this process is to have one clear pathway for all children with disabilities living in a geographical area. St Catherine’s Services are participating in this process. The HSE plan that a major reconfiguration of services for children aged from birth to eighteen in Wicklow will take place over the coming year.

The HSE recognises the importance of parents as stakeholders and ongoing meetings are planned to consult with parents as the process moves forward. St. Catherine’s Association have parent and staff representatives on the Wicklow Local Implementation Group (LIG) and it’s sub committee’s. The acting CEO is also a memberof the Governance Group along with repsentatives from HSE, Beeachpark Services and Enable Irelan.

We encourage all parents of children with special needs to engage in this process.  We have attached additional information about the process.
